Background

Investment knowledge and market updates are essential for users managing their wealth, making them informed and mitigating loss risks. However, many banking platforms present this information in a complex and data-heavy, making it difficult for users to understand.

Problems

  1. Users finds current market updates given by Relationship Managers (RM) are presented in complex charts and dense with financial jargon, making it difficult to understands.

  2. Market conditions change rapidly, but users often receive updates too late and in format that not easily accessible (PDF).

  3. Low engagement & trust, without clear, ease of access, and user friendly experience, users may rely on third-party sources.

Challenges

The challenge was to simplify financial data and information structure, since most of Jenius's users were new to investing. Additionally visuall appealing interface also important to encourage users to use the features for informed invesment decisions.

Approach

  1. User Research & Insight Gathering - conducted user inteviews with our users and RM to understand the pain points, user behaviour, and financial literacy levels.

  2. Information Architecture - organizing concept and content, while simplified the information structure.

  3. User Flow - maps out the steps a user take to access Market Updates and Investment Insights.

  4. UI/UX Design - design the high-fidelity of the interface based on the information architecture and user flows created.

  5. User testing and Iterations - conducted the usability testing to test proposed design to users with goals to validate the flow of finding the features, check understanding of each article shown, and identify if there's any enhancements needed.

Result

  1. Positive User Feedback - user testing helped to refine the experience further.

  2. Seamless Navigation - well structured navigation and informations allowed the users quickly find relevant investment informations.

  3. Improved Financial Confidence - users with low level knowledge reported feeling more confident in making investment decision due to simplified data visualization and financial jargon.
