Overview

As a part of regulatory complience, a new governance rule mandates that investment transaction (sell, buy, and switching) above 10 million Rupiah will incur a Bea Meterai (stamp duty fee). This project focuses on designing a transparent UX to ensure claritu, compliance, and ease of understanding for users when performing high-value investment transaction.

Problem

Users need clear and upfront information about the Bea Meterai fee, including when and how it applies, to avoid confusion and ensure a smooth transaction process.

Objective

  • Identify key moments & design to highlight new Bea Meterai regulations.

  • Ensure transparency by providing clear fee breakdowns before & after transaction.

UX Strategy

  • Check Competitor and Similiar Service
After getting the project brief and it's expected output, I conducted a thorough analysis of similiar service on Jenius and competitiors. This step is to examined and identify best practice how Jenius and other financial platform present fee disclosure, placement timing, and level of design, especially for high value transactions.

  • Map out the User Flow
To create a seamless experience focusing on key touchpoints where users need to be informed about Bea Meterai fee, I mapped this following flow:

    1. Transaction Initiation
A clear breakdown of the Bea Meterai fee are displayed berfor the user confirm their transaction.

    2. Confirmation Page
A summary of the transaction, including the total cost and Bea Meterai fee shown for final approval of transaction.

    3. Post Transaction
A detailed information generated after the transaction, including Bea meterai and the summary information.

  • Collaboration with UX Writer
Work closely with UX writer to craft clear, and concise microcopy to explain Bea Meterai, including tooltips, help text, and the error message to ensure the language easy to understand and aligned with the Jenius's tone.

  • Test Placement Options with Users
To validate the placement and design, I conducted testing with diverse users. The goals were to:

    1. Determine the most effective placement of Bea Metereai fee

    2. Ensures they are understand with the fee applied and how impacted their investment transaction.

    3. Ensures the design created are standard with other Jenius's features.

Results & Impact

The Bea Meterai design made Jenius's investment transaction more clear to users, helping them feel more confident about their transactions and ensuring they understood the fee, which also improved compliance with goverment regulations.
